Now that May is here, it’s a good time to look back at your fitness goals to see what progress you’ve made on them so far this year. Perhaps you set some specific goals as New Year’s Resolutions, and now that a third of the year is over, you can see if you’ve followed through or you still have room for improvement. At Gravity Gym in Aventura, we want to help every person achieve their fitness goals, no matter what they are.

Write Down Your Goals

Making mental goals can be helpful, but it can be more beneficial to write them down. Saying to yourself, “I’m going to go to the gym three times a week” can be motivational, but having goals on a piece of paper that you can look at can make them seem more real and attainable. You can even create a checklist for each week, and mark off the days you go to the gym and/or the workouts you complete. If you’re working with a personal trainer to lose weight, consider adding a weigh-in page for each week! You can track the pounds you’re losing and write down how you’re feeling at the beginning and end of each week.

Setting New Goals Each Month

It’s good to set goals that can take a few months to complete, but you shouldn’t only focus on long-term benchmarks. Setting new goals each month can help you feel more successful, and it can help you create goals that are more realistic and attainable for your current physical condition. It’s also good to work with a trainer to help you understand what’s best for your body and how you can avoid injury while working towards lifting more weight or increasing your endurance.
